  1. Your health comes first. We can all wait. Best wishes for a healthy recovery and a healthy life ahead

  2. I am so glad that you are doing better. I have type 2 diabetes and, between swimming and walking (either treadmill or outside), I try to do 90 minutes a day. It’s a process and a pain to always watch your diet and exercise but it’s worth it. I’m so glad that Max is going to make some more appearances. Please take care and keep our boy Max alive and kicking bad alien butt.

  3. Thank you so much, was worried and happy to hear you are the mend, hugs from Duncan, B.C.

  4. Max.. …I mean, hehe, Paul,
I truly hope you are better from your ordeal. I will have you in my thoughts and prayers. If Captain Robichaux was around, he would have ordered you into convalescent with Dr. Sabin until you were fully rested. You are an amazing author telling an outstanding story of very human characters with all their flaws. I as one of your fans want you to be health with your loved ones. God bless to you and your family; Godspeed to the crew of the USS Cumberland. “Never” give up the fight.

  5. I’m glad you’re doing OK now. Love your max stories! I’m from Louisiana and I really relate to him. I’m looking forward to more books.

  6. Thank you for the update! I have been very worried about you. 45 mins/day on the treadmill is terrific. I also hope you are able to keep your bloodsugar under tight control. That is essential for good healing. Is there anything we can do or send you to make you more comfortable or happier?

Looking forward eagerly to the novella….have always wanted to know what happened. I will also keep my fingers crossed that somehow the Phelung artistic treasure “Birth of the Waters” was left in Phelung and not destroyed with the Cumberland. I Vicki

  7. Very glad to hear your health is improving! I discovered your books just recently but was immediately hooked. Probably the best mil scifi I have read in the last five years. Best wishes from Germany…

  8. A great sense of relief to hear an update, again, I hope you are doing well. I am really looking forward to The Hunters of Vermin. Something to whet our appetite!

  9. I do not know if I am one of your biggest fans or not, but I do know that you are one of my two favorite working authors. Am so glad to hear that you are becoming more active since that implies your health is improving. Still anxious to read more about Max’ adventures, both pre and post Cumberland.

  10. get better soon, I went though heart problems in my early forties but I’m Ok now (close to 60). keep up the treadmill it’s boring but worth it

  11. Glad to here you are back and somewhat in action, I have been checking Amazon and here about once month to see if you slipped something in on the sly. To this date you are my favorite Sci-Fi author. The world you have created is so well thought out that I get all fan girly. Seriously. Thank you and hope you fell better soon

  12. While saying I’m glad you’re well is a little self serving (looking forward to the next book), I really am glad you’re well!

    • Of course, I came within a hair’s breadth of getting killed yesterday driving back home from Westercon in Tempe when an 18 wheeler’s trailer smackied me going the other way. Car is a total loss, it looks like, although I just broke a rib. Lucky to be alive

  13. 2018 for book #4 sounds good. It’ll have been four years since I read the first two, so I’ll just re-read the series then 🙂 And I’m glad to hear you’re ok!
