My interview with the fabulous and prolific YA Science Fiction author Jennifer Brozek is now available for your listening pleasure. This was the first of my programs without any significant technical issues and was perhaps the best interview so far.
Ms. Brozek not only had some fascinating observations about Science Fiction and writing for younger readers, but also about fiction in general, self publishing versus conventional publishing, mental illness and the relevance of mentally ill characters, and the immortal Isaac Asimov. Guests keep mentioning his name without prompting from me. Really. No joke. Listen for yourself if you don’t believe me.
It was a good show. I hope you give it a listen. Click Here to Listen to the Show!
You can hear the first episode of Science Fiction Spotlight Radio that I hosted at this link:
The technical difficulties really threw me for a loop, kicked me offline, and killed the live broadcast. But, I was able to get back into the studio and record the show while I still had a guest. Brett Battles proved to be a great guest and the show turned out reasonably well. I’m looking to do better in two weeks on October 17 when my guest will be Jerry Pournelle.
I have recently accepted the post of Host of the Science Fiction Spotlight Radio program on the Authors on the Air Global Radio Network. The show will air on alternating Saturday nights at 9:00 Eastern Time beginning October 3, 2015. My first guest will be Brett Battles, the hugely successful thriller writer who has just put out the first volume of a time travel series, Rewinder. On October 17, my guest will be one of the great SF writers of our time, Jerry Pournelle, perhaps best known as a co-author with Larry Niven of the immortal The Mote in God’s Eye and my favorite alien invasion novel, Footfall. He is also the author of several highly successful military science fiction novels, and a host of other works.
Here is a little promo I put together for the program.
